Invalid Procedure Call or Argument (VB6)
There are many reasons as to why an 'invalid procedure call' exception is thrown in a VB6 environment. For instance..
1. Negative values
- When assigning a negative values to an attribute or functions. For instance, when assigning a negative value to the function 'chr'
chr(-12)
2. Form not loaded
- When invoking something which the form is not loaded such as setfocus.
3. Key don't exist in a collection
- when retrieving an item from a collection where the key don't exist or it has been deleted before you know it.
It is hard to debug 'invalid procedure call' without checking out the codes, in case you have a dll file, you can't do anything about it.

Juniper Networks Introduces Dynamic Services Architecture to Accelerate
Juniper Networks is changing the game in networking with the introduction of the industry’s first Juniper Networks Dynamic Services Architecture™ designed to help high-performance businesses tightly align rapidly changing business requirements with network technology investments to accelerate new service deployments. Dynamic Services Architecture™ delivers an extensible design that can simultaneously scale integrated services and network capabilities on a single architecture. This enables enterprises, service providers and public sector agencies to quickly and cost-effectively take advantage of new service opportunities, address changing business requirements, and deliver superior user experience.
The company today introduced the Juniper Networks SRX 5600 and 5800 series dynamic services gateways – a new category of extensible “no compromise” networking and security products that set unprecedented benchmarks for high-performance networking; running on Juniper’s powerful JUNOS® single-source code base network operating system, and delivering integrated services with new industry benchmarks - including the highest performing firewall service, exceeding 120 Gbps.
Juniper Networks SRX 5600 and 5800 dynamic services gateways are ideally suited for large enterprise and service provider networks. The SRX 5800 dynamic services gateway can support more than 120 Gbps of stateful firewall and up to 30 Gbps of IPS, as well as 350,000 connections per second; and can be configured to support more than 400 Gbps interfaces with choices of Gigabit Ethernet or 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports. The scalability of the services processing cards (SPC) and input/output cards (IOC) are enabled by the terabit speed fabric employed in the dynamic services gateways, which allows for massive scale of Ethernet ports and services processing.

Press Release:
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, September 23, 2008 -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, announced its continued commitment to understanding and documenting its environmental impact by sponsoring and participating in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), which launched its sixth report, CDP6, today in New York City. CDP is a global standardized mechanism by which companies report their greenhouse gas emissions to institutional investors; it hosts one of the largest registries of corporate greenhouse gas data in the world at www.cdproject.net.
"Understanding and managing green house gas (GHG) emissions has become a business imperative that manifests itself in sustainability metrics and overall shareholder value," said Paul Dickinson, CEO of CDP. "Companies, such as Juniper, that take a proactive approach to addressing the issues of climate change within their business will find themselves well positioned to meet the needs of their stakeholders, from shareholders to employees."
This marks the second year Juniper Networks has sponsored the CDP launch and the third year it has voluntarily collected and submitted its green house gas emissions for worldwide reporting. As one of the 33 members of the CDP's Supply Chain Leadership Collaboration, the company is expanding its data collection to include its supply chain in order to achieve a more comprehensive accounting of its emissions and better shape its worldwide environmental strategy.
As indicated in Juniper's CDP6 response, the company has realized both successes and challenges to managing its carbon footprint on a global basis. Through the high-performance network infrastructure Juniper delivers to the market, the company remains committed to helping its customers meet their own energy efficiency targets.
Examples of Juniper's Successes
Some Opportunities for Improvement

- Amongst other initiatives, Juniper has implemented a new travel policy encouraging employees to use web conferencing and other unified communication tools whenever possible in place of travel, leveraging Juniper's Secure Access SSL VPN appliances for fast, reliable and secure remote access. Companies with a culture of telecommuting, are able to reduce commute pollution and energy costs and save employees money on expensive gasoline. At Juniper, 90% of employees telecommute at some point throughout the year, with 10% telecommuting on any given day.
- The company is now announcing its SRX dynamic services gateways to offer an extensible solution to scaling integrated services and networking capabilities on a single platform with savings up to 75 percent on space and up to 50 percent less power use than alternative solutions. In February, Juniper introduced the industry's first high-performance control plane scaling platform, enabling customers to implement service-specific network virtualization and consolidate network equipment and functions, resulting in space and energy savings of up to 60% over traditional solutions. In January, Juniper launched the EX-series of Ethernet switches which occupies up to 80 percent less space and consume up to 53 percent less power than competing solutions offering similar port densities.

- At the Juniper Networks corporate headquarters facility in Sunnyvale, Calif, the company expanded its square footage by 22 percent and its headcount by 15 percent from 2006 to 2007, yet kept its direct and indirect emissions (Electrical and Natural Gas) relatively stable, growing less than 3 percent (from 14,885 metric tons in 2006 to 15,223 in 2007). Looked at another way, the emissions per headcount went down by nearly one metric ton per person (from 6.91 in 2006 to 5.97 in 2007). This stability reflects the company's focus on growing its business in an environmentally responsible way.
- Juniper is successfully implementing virtualization technology to minimize its server footprint in concert with supporting the overall expansion of the company. At its corporate headquarters in Sunnyvale, Juniper recently completed a pilot virtualization program in which it inventoried and then reduced the number of servers in its data center by 30 percent (approximately 325 servers). Ongoing server virtualization projects are focused on ensuring the company responsibly adds and maximizes server capacity and functionality, in addition to looking at the company's lab environments to ensure optimal utility.
Some Opportunities for Improvement
- As a growing organization with an expanding presence outside of the United States, Juniper must contend, as does almost every global company, with finding and implementing efficient technologies in emerging markets in which it has a presence. In 2007, power availability issues negatively impacted Juniper's green house gas emissions reduction efforts in India, where the company was forced to employ less-efficient power supply systems for an extended period of time. Working closely with its utility providers, Juniper has successfully strengthened its power infrastructure in India and believes it is well positioned to significantly reduce emissions going forward.
- The Juniper CDP data collection process also highlighted opportunities for improvement in the area of employee travel. As a result, Juniper implemented a new travel policy encouraging employees to utilize web conferencing and other unified communication tools whenever possible in place of travel, leveraging Juniper's own high-performance network infrastructure products, such as its Secure Access SSL VPN appliances for fast, reliable and secure remote access, to enhance its efforts in this area.
Juniper is focused on continuing to make a positive impact on the communities within which we operate," said Brad Minnis, director of environmental health, safety and security. "Whether those impacts relate to our business operations or the efficiencies of the high-performance network infrastructure we deliver to our customers, Juniper remains focused on innovating to be part of the solution to the problems facing the world."
Leading the Networking Industry Towards Greater Energy Efficiency
- Juniper is announcing its SRX dynamic services gateways, a new category of devices that offers an extensible solution to scaling integrated services and networking capabilities on a single platform. The innovations delivered by this architecture will allow customers to accelerate new service deployments, while saving up to 75 percent on space and using up to 50 percent less power than alternative solutions.
- In February, Juniper introduced the industry's first high-performance control plane scaling platform, the Juniper Networks Control System 1200, which enables customers to implement service-specific network virtualization. In addition to the control and scale benefits, this virtualization reduces operational and capital costs by consolidating network equipment and functions, resulting in space and energy savings of up to 60% over traditional solutions.
- In January, Juniper launched the EX-series of Ethernet switches powered by the proven, carrier-class JUNOS® software. When deployed using Juniper Virtual Chassis technology, which enables up to 10 EX 4200 series switches to be interconnected and managed as a single logical device, the EX-series switches occupy up to 80 percent less space and consume up to 53 percent less power than competing solutions offering similar port densities. In addition, the Virtual Chassis technology enables customers to add capacity as needed, maximizing network utility while helping to eliminate unnecessary space, energy and cooling consumption.
- Juniper is the market leader in SSL VPN solutions, which enable telecommuting by providing anywhere, anytime secure access to the resources individuals need, when and how they need them. Those companies with a culture of telecommuting, including Juniper, itself, are able to reduce commute pollution and avoid the energy costs associated with operating very small offices, while also saving employees money on expensive gasoline. At Juniper, 90% of the company's employees telecommute at some point throughout the year, with 10% telecommuting on any given day.
- According to the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey 9 out of 10 workers, or 87.7 percent, drive to work. An individual with a 10 mile commute driving a car that gets approximately 20 miles to the gallon would save an equivalent of 22 pounds of carbon dioxide if they telecommuted once a week, or 1144 pounds for the year.

Singkatnya, Artistik, simple and friendly.
3. Meta Tag

Google's Thoughts on the Future of A.I
A.I (Artificial Intelligent) has always been around, but ever since the emergence of search engines, its importance become toned-down. But it is always important.
Long time ago, we did explore the issues of A.I research, check out here. The conclusion then was the study of A.I is too broad for a subject and no one knows the exact boundary, rendering research seems forever.
Google recently published their own version of the boundary in the blog; The Intelligent Cloud.
In a way, I must say that the evolution of computer science is to make human obsolete that its ultimate aim is to program a human brain, we are still far far away.
Google's approach will be focused on searching intelligence couples with cloud computing. Pretty much a lot of semantic web. Check out the blog entry. It is always interesting to know what industrial leaders are thinking ahead, this is why we must read blogs.

Finally, I just want to conclude is that when the world has descended into the reality as depicted by the movie The Matrix, our foresight may be flawed; human may be the one who wanted to kill the 'live' machine and not otherwise based on one simple premise; life is at stake.
However, according to Google, we are still far far away.
Why must machine be the bad guy ?

Press Release:
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, September 18, 2008 -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced certification compliance of the Juniper Networks EX-series Ethernet switches with Internet protocol (IP) telephony solutions from Avaya, a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services. Juniper's EX-series Ethernet switches were successfully compliance tested by Avaya resulting in seamless interoperability with Avaya Communication Manager R5.0, Avaya 9630 IP telephones and Avaya 4610SW IP telephones.
Running on Juniper's powerful JUNOS® software, a single-source code base network operating system, the EX-series Ethernet switches deliver the operational simplicity, carrier-class reliability and integrated security that helps high-performance businesses accelerate the deployment of business-enabling applications and services across the extended enterprise. By leveraging JUNOS software, EX-series switches offer carrier-class continuous systems availability, automated network operations and a platform for open innovation that enables customers to quickly align the network with changing business requirements.
Mutual customers including Scottsdale, AZ-based AmazingMail.com, Inc., a leading provider of advanced direct mail marketing solutions, have successfully deployed interoperable Juniper/Avaya solutions to achieve greater levels of IT flexibility and investment protection.
"AmazingMail.com relies on converged communications services from Avaya to deliver exceptional customer service while reducing IT costs," said Larry Prine, lead systems administrator for AmazingMail.com, Inc. "Avaya's interoperability certification of the EX-series switches ensures us that the investments we are making in Juniper's high-performance network infrastructure today will support the IP telephony solutions we deploy now and in the future."
Committed to delivering best-in-class IP telephony solutions, Avaya and Juniper Networks have been global strategic partners since 2005. In addition to enabling customers to support converged applications on a single network, customers benefit from joint solution and product development that leverages the innovation of two industry leaders, as well as reseller agreements that facilitate the sale of converged solutions and the global delivery of services and support for enterprise customers.
"Juniper's open, high-performance network infrastructure provides enterprises greater choice and control in quickly meeting their changing business requirements while reducing costs," said Chris Spain, vice president of product management, Ethernet Platforms Business Group at Juniper Networks. "By achieving compatibility between EX-series Ethernet switches and Avaya's IP telephony solutions, Juniper helps enterprise customers to accelerate the deployment of carrier-class converged business communications that enhance business agility and workforce productivity."
Juniper Networks is also a member of the Avaya DevConnect program — an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a customers investment in Juniper's high-performance network infrastructure.
Juniper Networks is eligible to submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, N.J. There a team of Avaya engineers develops a comprehensive test plan for each application to verify whether it is Avaya compliant. This ensures businesses can confidently add best-in-class capabilities to their network without having to replace existing infrastructure—speeding deployment of new applications and reducing both network complexity and implementation costs.
"By offering compliance testing to the many innovative companies including DevConnect program members such as Juniper Networks, Avaya promotes fully interoperable solutions that have been designed to help businesses unleash powerful new possibilities," said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations and technical alliances, Avaya. "They are able to use Unified Communications to connect supplier, partners, employees and customers to information from wherever they are, over whatever device they have available – getting more out of their multivendor network and delivering incremental value to their bottom line."

JUNIPER NETWORKS Becomes Participating Organisation Member of PCI Security Standards Council
Juniper Networks has joined the U.S.-based PCI Security Standards Council as a Participating Organization. In an era of increasingly sophisticated behavioural-based attacks on systems, adhering to the PCI Data Security Standard (DSS) represents one of an entity's best protection strategies against data criminals.
Endorsed by American Express, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa Inc., the PCI DSS requires merchants and service providers that store, process or transmit customer payment card data to adhere to information security controls and processes that ensure data integrity.
Juniper’s UAC (Unified Access Control) and existing firewall solutions already meet the requirements of general PCI DSS; and the company will work with the Council to evolve the PCI DSS and other payment card data protection standards to deliver compliance solutions that are easy to deploy and maintain, improve risk mitigation, and enable businesses to be competitive.

Thai Petroleum Refinery Hardens Distribution Control System Security With Juniper Networks
Highly automated Bangkok-based refinery operator Bangchak Petroleum hardened the security of its distribution control system with Juniper Networks Firewall/VPN with Unified Threat Management and Unified Access Control solutions to protect the status and event logging servers by isolating network components and preventing and mitigating a wide range of network intrusions, malware, and emerging security threats.
More about Juniper Networks.
Press Release:
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, September 11, 2008 -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that Thailand's Bangchak Petroleum Public Company Limited has hardened the security of its distribution control system (DCS) with Juniper Networks Firewall/VPN with Unified Threat Management (UTM) and Unified Access Control (UAC). Without strong security, Bangchak's DCS would be vulnerable to catastrophic attacks, including control hijacking and other operational disruptions.
Bangchak Petroleum, an oil refiner based in Bangkok, Thailand, has deployed the Juniper Networks Secure Services Gateway (SSG) and Infranet Controller (IC) in a solution that separates refinery control systems from business applications and helps bring it into compliance with the ISO-27001 security standard.
"Oil refining is a complex and strategically significant business that relies on a high degree of automation," said Mr. Aiyaret Joursuwon, Telecommunication Network and Support Section Manager in Bangchak Petroleum's Information Technology Office. "Deploying the SSG and UAC solution together protects the brains of the refining process, including all our status and event logging servers, by isolating network components, and preventing and mitigating a wide range of network intrusions, malware, and emerging security threats."
The SSG family of purpose-built integrated network security appliances deliver a perfect blend of performance, security and LAN/WAN connectivity. Traffic flowing in and out of the customer site is protected from worms, viruses, Trojans, spyware, malware, and day zero attacks by a complete set of optional UTM security features such as stateful firewall, IPSec VPN, IPS, antivirus (anti-spyware, anti-phishing, anti-adware), anti-spam, and Web filtering.
Juniper Networks UAC is a comprehensive access control solution that combines user identity, device security state and location information for session-specific access policy by user. This reduces threat exposure, delivers comprehensive control, visibility, and monitoring, and can decrease access control deployment costs and complexity.
The Infranet Controller, the hardened, centralized policy management server that underpins UAC, leverages Juniper Networks' proven, best-in-class security and access control products. The Infranet Controller can dynamically download the Juniper Networks UAC Agent software to endpoint devices to handle user authentication, endpoint integrity inspection and policy verification for every user coming on the network. Alternatively, it can gather the same information in an agent-less mode.
When deployed in concert with the SSG platforms, Juniper Networks UAC not only enforces access control policies, it can apply the UTM policies available in SSG platforms, such as IPS, antivirus and web filtering on a per user/per session basis. Juniper Networks UAC deployed together with the SSG platforms unify the application of access and security policies for comprehensive network access and threat control.
"Enterprises across Asia Pacific are unlocking value and building competitive differentiation through network innovation," said Brad Gray, Vice President of Asia South Pacific, Juniper Networks. "Bangchak Petroleum exemplifies high-performance businesses that can gain operational stability and predictability across even the most complex and demanding network environments."

How to fill up PDF Files ?
Refinancing is the norm these days.
Go-Green is also something which we cannot avoid missing these days.
If you received an application form (in PDF format) from any sources and it would be rather silly for you to print it out, use your pen to fill up the details and scan it back to electronic format and then email it back. This is way too redundant and not environmental friendly.
Check out one sample here.
Of course, this is the primitive and it cannot fail, who doesn't have a pen, email or fax machine ?
The better way, if we are talking achieving the MSC vision, is to make use of Adobe Acrobat 9.0
1. To mark a check-box.
Make use of 'Tools/Comment & Markup/Rectangular Tools'

2. To Fill-Up Text
Make use of 'Tools/Typewrite'

3. To make a signature.
Make use of 'Tools/ Comment & Markup/Stamps'.
You can scan in your own signature and create a 'custom stamp' for it.

This is all that you need.

More about Adobe.
Press Release:
KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, September 9, 2008 - Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today enhanced its software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering for eCommerce and multi-channel marketing companies by releasing the Scene7 Media Portal 3.0, a major update to its hosted media management solution previously known as Image Portal.
The new Media Portal 3.0 is an add-on module for the recently released Scene7 4.0 hosted rich media platform used by companies worldwide to drive online business through the delivery of dynamic content for eCommerce, Web sites, email, print and devices.
Media Portal features significant advancements, including new Administrator functions that streamline cross-channel marketing using high-impact imagery and other rich content.
“With the increasing demand for rich content across channels, organizations are continuously tasked with maintaining quality and brand reputation while controlling costs,” said Doug Mack, vice president of Consumer and Hosted Solutions at Adobe. “Media Portal 3.0 used with the Scene7 4.0 rich media platform makes for a truly integrated environment that helps save time and costs by delivering dynamic, data-driven content to multiple customer touch points.”
“Wrangler helps deliver high-quality, relevant apparel to consumers worldwide, and it is important that we effectively reach our retailers and consumers in a way that is convenient and swift,” says Debbie Collier, manager of Marketing Services at Wrangler. “Having a turn-key, web-based media management solution like Scene7 Media Portal 3.0, allows us to provide product, lifestyle and brand marketing imagery instantly and in a customized format.”
Media Portal 3.0 builds on the success of the previous Scene7 image management solution by expanding media type support. Now, it can be used with popular creative file types, including Adobe Flash® CS3 Professional, Adobe Photoshop® CS3, Adobe InDesign CS3, Adobe Illustrator® CS3, as well as popular business file formats including Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF and Zip files.
Media Portal 3.0 includes a new Administrator feature that allows administrators to add or remove users, as well as assign access to rich media content at a group, folder or asset level. With Media Portal, administrators can set up custom metadata fields for content contributors to use when adding and/or editing content in bulk. Administrators can also define standardization rules or presets (such as file format, size or scale and resolution) upon upload or distribution of images, enabling the system to dynamically transform the content instead of requiring manual production.
A broad spectrum of companies worldwide have benefited from the Scene7 media management solution including: ExOfficio, John Lewis, LaCrosse Footwear, Inc., Levi Strauss & Co., newegg.com, Levolor, VF Corporation and Victorinox.
Scene7 4.0 Platform
As an add-on module, Media Portal 3.0 integrates seamlessly with the Scene7 4.0 platform and streamlines rich media publishing with an intuitive workflow. The new Scene7 4.0 platform has a user interface that offers single and accordion pane viewing, as well as drag and drop capabilities. It includes a vast library of best practice and configurable rich media viewers to help users deliver an enhanced customer experience with little effort. Other tutorial resources are also provided to support both new and power users.

How to keep files confidential ?
If you want to keep a highly confidential file, keep it as hard copy in the safe.
if you want to keep a moderately confidential file, this is what I recommend.
Convert file into PDF format and protect it with encryption. Acrobat 9 now supports 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) as approved by the U.S. government.

Then keep it in a folder by applying strict Windows security (assuming you are using Windows Vista).
First of all, make sure you have a login to Windows.
Assign the login with full control.

Delete other users from being able to access the folder (including administrator and system)

So now you have a folder where only your login can be able to access, modify and delete it.
This will help to prevent the following threats.
Anything that is electronic is not 100% secured.

- Other registered windows users - Will not be able to gain access to the folder.
- Malwares (while you logon as yourself) - By turning off access to administrator, system and other users. (Malwares would usually try to gain access to the folder using system or administrator rights)
- While the laptop or hard disk is stolen - all folders can be opened now. The only protection is the security for PDF file.
- When selling your laptop - make sure you fully clean up the hard disk or replace it with a new hard disk. Still the PDF file is protected by password.
Anything that is electronic is not 100% secured.
